Jodie Foster directing a Sci-Fi thriller!

Jodie Foster recently spoke with LA Times about the future of her directorial career.
Although it is still in it's early stages (doesn't even have a title yet), Jodie plans to direct a sci-fi thriller.

According to Foster:

"There's a family element to it, but it's much more a genre movie,"
she said. "I'd like to do that 'cause that's a world I live in as an actor but I've never really gone to as a director. I'd still have to have all the other stuff in a film. It can't just be, 'There's a bad guy, there's a monster.' It has to have all the other stuff too."-LA Times

Though Foster has directed a nice amount of films, the only thriller/horror related directorial experience she has, was directing an episode of the 80s classic horror television series "Tales from the Darkside"

In my opinion, I think Jodie Foster can pull of a GREAT sci-fi thriller. She has acted in them, and really knows the business.

What do you think? Can Jodie Foster present an awesome sci-fi thriller? Comment below telling my YOUR opinion.

"The Innkeepers" NEW PICS!

Ti West's new horror films "The Innkeepers" (the follow-up to his 2009 indie horror throwback smash hit "The House of the Devil") has been releasing some pretty awesome new screen caps and one sheets!

CHECK EM' OUT!

"After over one hundred years in business, The Yankee Pedlar Hotel is about to close its doors for good. The last remaining clerks, Claire (Sarah Paxton), a twenty something that has come to terms with her lot in life, and Luke (Pat Healy), a computer-smart loner, are convinced that the hotel is haunted and are determined to prove it. As several strange occurrences begin to add up, both Claire and Luke must make the crucial decision on what to believe and what not to believe."

Ti West is one of the greatest horror directors out there today. A director making actual HORROR FILMS. Being fan since "The House of the Devil", I can't begin to explain how excited I am for this! West really knows how to capture the 80s feel in his throwback films.

"The Innkeepers" is an official selection of the SXWS Film Festival
When it will be in theaters (limited or world wide) is still unknown.

**EXTRA**
Also, if you want to see some of West's previous work, here is the trailer to his latest film
"The House of the Devil".

New teen scream comedy coming soon!

Take a horror slasher like "Scream", 80's comedy like "The Breakfast Club", add in some Dane Cook, and you get "Detention".

From the mind of music video director Joseph Kahn, comes "Detention". An indie teen horror comedy where senior students of Grizzly High not only have to watch their grades, but watch their backs too! A slasher movie killer has come to life, to take these teens down one by one, and its up to students Josh Hutcherson as "Clapton Davis" and Shanley Caswell as "Riley Jones", to put a stop to him!

Detention pokes fun at our favorite slashers, but also brings in some of our close to heart 80's comedies.

Detention is an official selection for SXWS Film Festival and will be in theaters in later 2011.

Now, usually I'm not into this kind of film (I've already seen "Scary Movie") but this looks like its adding something different to the table. Sort of like a Smart "Scary Movie".

What do you think? Let me know in the comments!

The moment you have all (or at least "Scream" fans) been waiting for. Wes Craven's new installment into the "Scream" series, "Scream 4" got its R rating today. "Rated R: for strong bloody violence, language and some teen drinking"

We can all now relax and thank the heavens that Scream 4 will not only be a hit, but BLOODY too!
